Cafes in Sutton: a street-by-street guide to the town centre
Published 31 October 2026
Sutton town centre has plenty of chain coffee shops, but some of the best cafes in Sutton are the independents tucked between them. This guide walks you through the town centre from the station downhill, so you can find a good cafe near wherever you happen to be.
Near Sutton station and the top of the High Street
LA Cafe Bistro, 1A-1B High Street. Almost opposite Sutton station, LA Cafe is a popular stop for breakfast and brunch classics, coffee and friendly service. It is a handy meeting point if someone is arriving by train, and it has picked up strong reviews on Tripadvisor.
Mad Coffee Bar & Delicatessen, 61 Lind Road. A few minutes' walk east of the station, this long-running cafe and deli has a Portuguese influence. Alongside breakfasts and coffee you will find heartier dishes such as bacalhau and peri-peri chicken, plus gluten-free options.
Along the High Street
Tiempo Lounge, 73 High Street. Part cafe, part bar, Tiempo opens from 9am every day, with big windows and a few tables outside at the front. It works for a relaxed brunch, a midweek coffee or an early evening drink.
The Sound Lounge, 216-220 High Street. Best known as a not-for-profit grassroots music venue, The Sound Lounge also runs a fully plant-based kitchen. Daytime visits are calmer, and it is one of the most community-minded places in Sutton.
Cafe Delight, 325 High Street. Further down the High Street, Cafe Delight is a straightforward breakfast and brunch cafe with a five-star food hygiene rating and lots of positive delivery-app reviews.
Manor Park and Throwley Way
Manor Park Cafe, Manor Park. If you want green space with your coffee, the cafe in Manor Park is a local favourite for home-made food, breakfasts, lunches and desserts at reasonable prices. It is a short walk from the High Street.
Trinco at Oru, 7 Throwley Way. Inside the Oru building, Trinco serves good coffee and a mostly plant-based menu inspired by Sri Lankan home cooking, with dishes such as dhal and hoppers. Look out for the rooftop terrace in warmer weather.
Worth the short trip: Cheam
- Domestique Coffee, 31 Station Way, Cheam: a small specialty coffee shop with excellent reviews, popular with commuters.
- Beans and Bloom, Whitehall, 1 Malden Road, Cheam: a cafe inside the historic Whitehall house, run by social enterprise Nickel Support, which trains and employs adults with learning disabilities. Seating opens onto a walled garden.
- Greenwoods Brunch and Lunch, Cheam Village: a well-reviewed spot for brunch in the village.
Which one should you choose?
For brunch near the station, start with LA Cafe. For plant-based food, try Trinco or The Sound Lounge. For a park stop with children, head to Manor Park Cafe. For serious coffee, Domestique in Cheam is worth the bus or train ride. Our best cafe in Sutton picks break this down by occasion.
Opening hours, menus and prices change. Check the venue's own website or Google listing before you go.
